Colour dominates my motivation, and my involvement with natural textiles and their response to various techniques. Designs are bold and graphic for my scarves, all promoting colour in different applications - and results! My style is known to be instantly recognised and exclusively individual, consistent with my desire to produce a scarf or garment to compliment and create a timeless piece for the customer.
The “Trompe L’Oeil Collection “ was born out of lockdown, where the luxury of time became available to me to return to my love of tapestry and needlepoint.
The squares in this collection are from stitched canvas designs, celebrating thread and colours, interpreting moods and thoughts into shapes and patterns.
The first designs for long scarves are from original knitted pieces, displaying the joys of elementary knitting! The sensation of warmth and comfort is communicated, but the feel instructs that all is not what it seems. No irritating fibres of wool, but the soft sensual luxury of silk instead!
The finished products live as textiles on textiles. The integrity of the original art work is preserved and enhanced to be enjoyed as a timeless, stylish accessory for wearing forever.
