I discovered the joy of metal work and jewellery design when I completed a Foundation course in Art & Design. I went on to develop skills in my new found passion by firstly completing a HND and then a BA HONs degree in Jewellery Design for Industry at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery in the fabulous Jewellery Quarter. In 2014 I established Saima Jewel.
Saima Jewel represents traditional craftsmanship and bespoke contemporary design. The collections are influenced by the heritage behind the brand. Inspiration has been taken from the intricate pattern from India and are a contemporary perspective on traditional Victorian filigree jewellery. My jewellery designs symbolize an infusion of the two cultures, a new perspective of East meets West. Each piece is made using a combination of traditional handmade skills and modern technologies to create contemporary jewellery in precious materials.
