Lood studio is a woodworking studio consisting of partners Louise Goodman and David Blay, based in woodland in the Kent countryside.
Our work harnesses the traditional crafts of steam bending and wood turning to create beautiful, individual homewares. Each of us working individually, but with a complimentary palette of forms and ideas, collaborating also on a number of pieces.
Nature is the primary source of inspiration for our pieces, where we look to transform the inherent beauty of raw wood into elegant, tactile and functional objects. An aim to capture a fleeting moment of movement in an otherwise static form.
Each piece is a unique handcrafted form that purposely draws out the inherent character within a chosen timber.
We source our wood from local suppliers and woodlands, seeking out and embracing the beautiful knots, cracks, burrs & figure distortions that are beautiful natural features of hardwood that work to make each piece unique.
