Liz is a Hertfordshire (UK) based jeweller, using silver & hand stitched silk threads to add layers of colour & texture to her work. She uses found objects collected from mudlarking along the River Thames. Everyday objects, such as pins & nails, that were handmade generations ago & have had a previous life & use, are worked on by her hands to give them a new chapter & make them into little pieces of wearable history.
After a previous career as a nurse & a support worker, she returned to university as a mature student & graduated with a BA in Applied Arts from the University of Hertfordshire in 2008. She was lucky enough to spend some time on an art residency in Husavik, Iceland in 2015, which inspired & informed the development of her work with found objects.
She sells her work online, & takes part in craft fairs & exhibitions nationally.
