I create extraordinary, intuitive and bold hand embroidery, which is highly textured and colourful. My stitching tells a narrative of nature, design, colour and character. I'm drawn to the natural world especially birds and my current collection includes over-sized brooches, each designed to be unique and to create a real statement.
I work under the name of The Accidental Stitcher and am based in East Sussex near Hastings, I am so inspired by the countryside round me and the sea. I stitch in the sunniest room in my house.
My pieces are lovingly hand stitched over many happy hours using found and vintage threads of silk, cotton and yarn. These different thicknesses build up texture on each pieces with many different stitches and layers.
