At Knot Design I design and make fine furniture putting longevity and sustainability at the heart of my business. I source native timbers that have been felled primarily in and around London and use cutting edge and ancient techniques in equal measure to make timeless pieces that are made to last.

I try to showcase the best of out native species such as ash, oak, elm, chestnut and plane and no longer use imported species in my practice.

I draw inspiration from a variety of sources - stylistically I am most heavily influenced by Scandinvian and Nordic designs of the mid 20th century - but I am also deeply drawn to the interaction of shapes with wood grain, through curves, patterns and texture.

To improve the circularity of my work, I plant new trees in urban environments to offset the impact of my work.
