I graduated in Jewellery & Silversmithing from the Cass, London in 2012 and work from my home studio making small batches of jewellery for contemporary craft fairs, galleries and exhibitions. I use recycled precious metals for my main body of work and also have a bespoke textile collection in stainless steel mesh cloth. My work almost always has an historical starting point, following costume history for inspiration but with a contemporary edge. I love the textiles and embellishments from past eras, for example the Elizabethan ruff for its fine detailing and dramatic scale or the fringing on 1920s dresses. The design process usually involves the writing down of a single word - ruffle, pleat, fringe, weave – and letting ideas spring from there.
