Hello, I have finally got around to updating my findamaker page, new work currently is mainly free motion stitch shown above in the image of the Robin. Painted directly onto calico then stitched into with a variety of coloured cottons.
I took a selection of these pieces to the March 2024 Cheltenham Craft Festival, happily a number of them found new homes. It was a very busy enjoyable weekend, great to catch up with real people, as a maker so much of your time is spent alone with your creations, so it is good to have change of environment.
I am now working on a series of Staffordshire Flatback embroideries, some in freemotion stitch, some hand embroidery with vintage silk. I have a lovely collection of actual Staffordshire Flatback ornaments, which I love to draw and paint, I am not sure yet whether they will be wall hangings or objects.
I am also preparing for a Crazy Bird Workshop in Rhos on Sea in May, lots of preparation to do.
It is also a busy time for applications to Craft Fairs later on in the year, I will let you know in my next update which ones I will be attending.
I hope you like my portrait, first image, I am wearing a sew on face brooch/patch, another new work.
