I am a designer and maker of tapestry artworks. My pieces are handwoven on a high warp frame in the Gobelin technique, using predominantly wool weft and cotton warp.
Influenced by the forms and styles of late Modernism, my work explores landscapes and wild places, either physical or spiritual. I often incorporate circular forms and clear lines in my work, which is a challenging construct in grid-based tapestry weaving. Intensity of colour is an important aspect, and I explore how visually simplified forms can be enhanced with divergent colour tones.
Based in London, my weaving practice is balanced with teaching, and I enjoy helping others develop their own journey in woven textiles.
