Having worked in museums and galleries for 10 years and more recently as a shepherds hut maker, John launched All In The Making in January 2023.

Working from a workshop in the North Cotswolds, John designs and makes simple, beautiful, hand-crafted furniture, inspired by a love of country vernacular styles. With only a small selection of hand tools such as planes, drawknives and spokeshaves, he employs traditional joinery methods to create sculptural, robust pieces, seeking to balance a simple aesthetic beauty with everyday practicality, befitting of traditional and contemporary homes alike.

Using sustainably sourced British hardwoods and natural finishes like traditional milk paint and beeswax, John's work explores the tactile nature of wood with carving tools, creating striking furniture, made to last a lifetime.

The product range includes stools and side tables, benches, chairs, serving boards and wooden utensils.
