Luxury knitwear and products, designed and hand-made in Wales on vintage domestic knitting machines using soft to handle, sustainable yarns. I like to use merino lambswool for its hardwearing and non-tickle qualities. Prices range from £50 to £300.
From sourcing materials and production methods to packaging and aftercare I am pro-actively committed to limiting the carbon footprint and impact on the environment within my practice.
I am inspired by the rich cultural heritage of my Welsh traditions and surroundings from castles to countryside. My ancestors were weavers on the Gower Peninsular and my work is often influenced by woven fabrics, traditional textiles and decorative arts and crafts. Colour is a vital ingredient and my palette is developed from a photographic documentary of my environment and a collection of found objects, notebook drawings and ephemera.
Studying Fashion and Textiles at Loughborough I began my career as a knitwear designer in the 80’s Customers included Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Henri Bendel and Bergdorf Goodman in America, Browns and Liberty London and Takashimaya, Japan. I also designed for Bill Gibb, Tommy Nutter, Ralph Lauren and Burberry. After thirty years of lecturing in Fashion and Textiles my new business launched in January 2020.
